Thanks for the credit given to the 481st Transportation Company on the “rescue” of Humphrey the Whale. I was the Company Commander at the time and we were all pleased to see the operation have such a successful outcome.

I was wondering if you know what that abandoned building on Ryer island is? It almost looks like a church or possibly a school.

The cost of the tour we went on was $45 per head and lasted four hours. Hartland Nursery is right on Steamboat Slough. From Walnut Grove you drive west across the island to the other side, turning right when you hit Grand Island Road. Hartland Nursery is not far from there on the right hand side.

We had a great time on the trip and I’m sure you will too if you decide to go on one.

Hi Tony

Here are the quick answers to your questions. The price was $45 per head. It lasted 4 hours. It leaves from Hartland Nursery and the nearest town is Walnut Grove. From there you have to drive across Grand Island to the nursery on the far side. Any time would be great. I will email your directly with more information on Hartland Nursery and the other tours they do.

I have a couple of questions: what is the price of a cruise on the Tule Queen? How long does it last in hours? What town does it leaves from. When best time to go? what other cruises are availabe?
